I’m so “radical”! Or more accurately, my painting “Hanging Around” is radical. This painting is being featured in the “Radical” Geometry Collection on Saatchi Art’s homepage. It’s a fun, colorful collection of many other paintings that focus on shape, line and geometry in their compositions. Curated by Associate Curator Bridget Carron, you can see the collection by clicking: Saatchi Radical Geometry Art Collection.
Hanging Around, Mixed Media (acrylic, paper, ink), 24″ x 48″, two panel cradled diptych, $2000
The concept for the painting is based on a nightmare I had about the two things that scare me most…bats and spiders. In my dream, they bred and mutated into bat-spiders that fly and weave webs in which they catch their prey. Creepy!
I’m very pleased to be featured in the “Originals for $1,500 and Under Collection” on Saatchi Online‘s homepage today. You can see the collection here: http://www.saatchionline.com/art-collection/Painting-Collage-Drawing/Originals-for-1-500-and-Under/153961/60529/view for my artwork and other great artist’s works. It is always a boost to get a little outside recognition for my artwork. Here’s a closeup of the painting…follow the link to see the whole image.
Saatchi Online, an online dealer of original paintings and prints, just started carrying my work. I sold my first print this week (“Hide and Seek”) through their website. Though the original of this painting is 48″ x 48″, they sell prints of this painting in 14″x14″ and 16″x16″ sizes. They do a particularly good job with framing and mailing prints at a very reasonable cost. So if you’ve always wanted to own a “Kathy Ferguson” painting but it didn’t fit within your budget, buying a print is a great option. Plus, at www.saatchionline.com, there are hundreds of other great artists to view and find something perfect for your walls.
