I am taking my last class, Abstract and Interpretation, at the Academy of Art University before presenting for my Masters in Fine Art. I’ve always struggled when it comes to abstraction so this is the perfect class to teach me to loosen up. Here’s my first assignment, a back and white abstraction of a simple glass still life. The painting looks like the glass is melting.
For those who don’t know, I’ve been working on getting my MFA (Masters in Fine Art) from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. They have a great program and I’m finally taking my very last class this semester (Abstract and Interpretation). Pictured below my last textbook ever! Can you tell I have “senioritis”? Can you get that in a master’s program that isn’t four years long? I’m looking forward to having some fun, playing and experimenting without letting that pesky “realism” get in the way.
