As I mentioned yesterday, the LIC Open Studios is this weekend and I am one of 200 artists showing their work. As most of my mixed media paintings are currently displayed at Cafe Joul in midtown Manhattan (1070 First Ave., NYC), I wasn’t sure what I hang for the Open Studio tour.
I decided to hang up some of my encaustic paintings, my mono and silkscreen prints, and my remaining mixed media paintings that wouldn’t fit in the Cafe Joul show. It’s quite a mishmash of art but it’s all colorful and fun so it hangs together well enough. Here’s a couple snapshots of my studio walls. Come on by and check it out. Reis Studios, 43-01 22nd St., Long Island City (Queens) on this Sat. and Sunday from noon to 5 pm.
